JNJ wishes Adam Kitchener all the best in his new premises

Everyone at JNJ would like to wish Adam KItchener of AK restoration all the best on his move. Adam has been a tenant of our commercial warehousing for nearly two years and we are delighted for Adam that his business has reached a stage where he needs to be based nearer London.

Self storage manager to go live today

JNJ are delighted to announce that esoft-sys have completed their review of our office systems and accounting procedures and are ready to go live with our new self storage management software today. There will be no changes to billing or payment procedures but customers may notice some changes to the format of the paperwork they receive. JNJ delighted to help The Sandgate Singers with their storage needs

Everyone at JNJ is delighted to have been able to help The Sandgate Singers with their storage needs.

The Sandgate Singers are a four-part choir based in Storrington, West Sussex. In 1983 a small choral group was founded in Storrington under the musical direction of Gill Venton, performing as the Community Choir.  In 1987 they joined with the Thakeham Singers and became the Sandgate Singers.  Since that time, the choir has gained in membership and musical stature. The Sandgate Singers perform at least three concerts at local venues each year: Spring, Summer and Winter, with music both secular and sacred.  Recent concert venues have included Our Lady of England Priory in Storrington and Arundel Cathedral.  In March 2007 they were joined by youngsters from Storrington First School. They rehearse at Sullington Village Hall every Monday evening during term times at 7.30 p.m. - 9.30 p.m.  

As we continue to cement our place as the first chioce for best quality self storage in the Sorrington,Pulborough, Arundel, Petworth and Horsham areas everyone at JNJ is delighted that once again we are able to help a local charitable organisation.

JNJ moves to a new office system - Self Storage Manager

JNJ storage is delighted to have appointed e-softsys to review and implement a new system for all recording, invoicing and management at our Pulborough self storage facilty. Since opening nearly two years ago our self storage faciltiy has seen rapid growth with customers from the local areas of Pulborough, Billingshurst, Storrington, Petworth, Ashington, Horsham, Worthing, Midhurst and Chichester but also from futher afield as self storage customers from London have taken advantage of our top quality facilities and unbeatable self storage rates. Additionally we now have a number of overseas customers from as far afield as Ontario, Saudi Arabia and even Queensland, Australia.

After the rapid expansion of JNJ Storage since opening in October 2008 the partners feel that now is the right time to overhaul our management systems to ensure that we continue to supply the ease of use that has been a mark of everything that we have strived for at JNJ, along with the quality of the self storage facilty and our best self storage pricing policies.

Whilst customers will experience very little change to the process of checking in and out of the self storage facilty the self storage manager system will allow more detailed management systems to give the partners the information needed to continue to offer the very best service possible. The self storage manager system will dovetail with our sentinel alarm and access control sytems to ensure that all self storage customers will continue to find using JNJ Storage as stress free as possible.

We are delighted with the work undertaken by esoftsys so far and look forward to working closely with them in the future.

Sentinel Systems complete automation of loading bay door

Sentinel systems have completed the automation of the loading bay door at our self storage facility in Pulborough. Customers will now be able to use their individual pincode to both open the main loading bay door and to disarm their personal room alarm, all from an external keypad. We are always striving to improve our self storage facilities and believe that this latest developement will continue to maintain our position as the provider of the very best quality self storage at the best rates in the area.

Sentinel systems are aknowledged as one of the biggest and best suppliers of alarm and access systems to self storage facilities in UK and also in America and Europe.The sentinel system not only ensures maximum security for our self storage customers but it also enables us to record and monitor all activity on the site. Shortland Steel Stuctures return to make improvements

Everyone at JNJ Storage was delighted to welcome back Shortland Steel Structures to make some improvements to our self storage facility over the past week. Shortland Steel Structures were the main contractor for the initial development of our self storage facility at Pulborough. At the time we were delighted with the quality of their work and we were delighted to welcome them back to make some improvements. These improvements included automating the main loading bay roller shutter door, adding a second fire door to the loading bay and automating and adding extra security to the main personnel doors.

All the access roads are clear of snow but we would urge visitiors to take care and beware of icy patches on the roads

Due to the overnight snowfall we are suggesting that customers ring the office before visiting the store today. Snow has been removed from the access and parking areas but the surrounding roads are treacherous and we would suggest that customers only visit the store if absolutely necessary.

We will expect at least the first 4 weeks of your stay to be paid up front but do not require the previously taken refundable deposit. JNJ Storage reaches a 40% letting rate after just 6 months in operation

A family run farm brought to its knees by cheap overseas imports has been forced to diversify its business portfolio in a bid to rejuvenate profits. Scrase Farms, based just outside Pulborough and owned and run by the Scrase Family since 1967, unveiled its new self-storage arm, JNJ Storage, in October last year.

The 12,000sq foot development, which cost £170,000, was built after the family was left with no choice but to diversify following a number of setbacks, including an influx of budget produce from abroad.

Mr. Scrase said: “A lot of farmers have had to look at how they market what they produce and many are having to think of new ways to make money from their land. The whole point of the new storage project is to enable us to maintain our farm as a viable unit. It’s a sustainable income which is exactly what we need.”

Problems for the Scrase family started when major food producer, Grampian, pulled out of the South East, cutting their ties with several local farmers.  Grampian, who use local producers all over the country to supply big name vendors and distributors, were forced to turn their back on the South East after a number of farms closed down in the area.

Scrase Farms still maintains its 400 acre holding producing over 30000 bales of hay for the horse market along with over 100,000 sq feet of commercial warehousing.

Mr. Scrase said: “75 per cent of our business was lost when Grampian pulled out of the South East - that whole section of our income was wiped out.”

In 2008 the decision was made to convert some of their refurbished warehousing into self-storage facilities. “As we already let several warehouses on site to external contractors, it seemed a natural development to move into storage,” said Mr. Scrase.

“The self storage business has meant that we have been able to create a sustainable source of income from the farm which supplements our arable business in a very complementary way. All farmers are looking at new ways to generate income and we are delighted that our new business is on target so far.”

With 100 state-of-the-art units, ranging from 16sq feet to 310sq feet in size and boasting hi-tech CCTV, individual alarms and personal key codes, the family placed a great deal of emphasis on quality.  Mr. Scrase said: “We had two choices - do it cheap and cheerfully or do it right. We went for quality.”

Given the current economic climate the new project is a big gamble for the family and Mr. Scrase admits that the venture has been “hard work” to get started. He added: “We’ve priced the units very aggressively, lower than our competitors. That said, it’s a sustainable price, which should give our customers confidence.”

Either way, 2009 is set to be a big year for the Pulborough farm as it faces the rapidly changing landscape of the farming industry.

The first tranche of grant payments to be received by JNJ Storage from SEEDA for the new self storage units at Pulborough was received by JNJ Storage today. SEEDA have granted Scrase Farms a 25% grant towards the development of the storage units. JNJ is very thankful for all the help received from SEEDA. The self storage units were completed last month and JNJ Storage is up and running offering self storage rooms at the best storage prices in the area. JNJ announce appointment of Sentinel Systems to install security systems at their new self storage facility at Pulborough

JNJ Storage is delighted to announce that they have appointed Sentinel Systems (Sentinel Systems ) to supply security systems at their new self storage facility at Pulborough. Sentinel Systems will be supplying and fitting security systems including the Winsen system of individual storage room alarms.

This system will add to the security already provided at the facility which includes 24 hour CCTV coverage, internal intruder and fire alarm systems, security fencing and external CCTV and intruder alarm systems. The Winsen system supplies each individual storage unit with its own intruder alarm and an individual pin code for each customer. This gives customers the peace of mind knowing that their storage room has an individual alarm and allows all visits to the facility and individual rooms to be logged and recorded by the office.

Planning permission granted for B8 storage at Haybourne, Pulborough

Scrase Farms are delighted that their planning application for the use of ware housing at Haybourne has been granted. The warehousing will be occupied by JNJ Storage. JNJ Storage is a new self storage company based in West Sussex and offering storage units to the whole West Sussex area.

JNJ Storage will have storage units available for Pulborough and the surrounding area including West Chilitington, Storrington, Billingshurst, Ashington, Washington, Petworth, Arundel, Loxwood, Rudgwick, Wisborough Green, Thakeham and Shipley.
