What is self-storage?
Self-storage is a service that offers both domestic and business users access to an individual secure storage space in purpose built rooms in which to store virtually anything you want. Each separate room is lockable and individually alarmed. You are the sole key holder.
For domestic storage if you:
are moving house and your new home is not ready yet
For business storage:
archives and files - in order to free up precious office space
How much does it cost?
The amount you pay depends on the size of the room you rent. To get an idea of what size you need visit our size estimator or come and see our rooms and discuss your requirements.
How can I pay?
You can set up a direct debit or pay by credit card or cheque.
Do I pay weekly or monthly?
Depending on the billing cycle you decide on we bill monthly, quarterly or annually in advance. Customers should receive their invoice ten days before payment is due.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
There is no need for any deposit on your storage room. We will expect at least the first four weeks of your stay to be paid on moving in but no deposit is necessary.
What is the minimum storage period?
The minimum period is 14 days.
What can't I store in my room?
You can store virtually anything except:
Living materials, such as animals and plants
Hazardous items such as flammable liquids or explosives
Items that can decompose
Unauthorised or illegal goods such as firearms

Do I have to book?
When can I move in?
You can move in on the same day as you make your enquiry (during office opening hours) providing we have a suitable sized room for you. You will need the relevant documentation needed to complete and sign your contract. Two forms of ID are required one of which must be a photo ID (passport or driving licence). Payment of the first invoice must be made prior to moving in.
If I move out of my unit early do I receive any refund on any pre-paid storage?
Yes you will receive a full refund on any unused pre-paid storage period subject to any adjustments for billing type and notice periods.
What size rooms do you have?
Our room sizes vary from 16 sq ft to 300 sq ft.
What about security?
Each room is protected by its own alarm with a personalised customer access pin code.You are the sole holder of keys to your room. The unit has well-lit corridors and fire detection systems and is on a fenced gated compound with internal and external CCTV coverage and intruder alarms.
Are your rooms heated?
Our rooms are not heated, however, the temperature within the rooms remains fairly constant. Our modern building is fully insulated so that our rooms are neither too hot nor cold.
Do you have a removals or van service?
No, but we do recommend local van hire companies and removal services from a 'man with a van' up to large removals firms. Please visit our preferred partners page for further information.
Do you have trolleys available?
Yes, at no charge. All our rooms are on the ground floor with wide aisles and easy-access doors.
Can I change room size?
Yes, you only pay for the area you need.
What about insurance?
Your goods must be insured whilst in storage. JNJ offers a tailor made customer goods policy. Please ask the office for more details.
